Winter hiking on Mount Washington
In mid December I joined writer Keith Mulvihill and climbing guide Paul Cail for a day trip up Mount Washington. This was for an article in the Travel>Escapes section of The New York Times. Although it was cold and windy, we lucked out with the weather and reached the summit under mostly clear skies. As a follow up the next day, we hiked the Lost Pond Trail at Pinkham Notch for a more low key look into winter hiking in New Hampshire. Here is a link to the article, audio slideshow, and some photos.
